Costa Mesa, CA: Andreas Katzourakis was 22-0 as one of Greece’s rising boxing prospect and on Thursday night before another sold out crowd of 1,268 at Fight Club OC he kept his unbeaten streak intact with a knockout victory in his pro boxing debut stopping Chukka Willis in the first round.
Out of Athens, Greece, but now living in Los Angeles and training at Wild Card Boxing Gym, Katzourakis just overwhelmed the game Willis from Emporia, Kansas catching him with a devastating right hook as they were trading punching in the first round, with referee Tom Taylor waving the bout over as Willis slumped to the canvas.
Other wins on Roy Englebrecht Promotions Thursday night’s show in Costa Mesa, California saw Anaheim’s Mike Danny Sanchez score a split decision win over Alejandro Lopez in a bout where fans tossed nearly $100 in the ring to show their appreciation. Jose Huerta scored a split decision win over Mark Alvidrez; Hakop Ter-Petrosyan scored a UD over Travis Williams at welterweight; Tavorus Teague who brought a 3-20 record into the show upset Pomona’s 4-1 David Lopez winning a split decision; and in the final bout of the night Anaheim’s Andre Walker goes to 4-1 winning over Santiago Diaz.
