The Big Switch Happening at Fight Club OC

September 28, 2023

“A mixed martial artist fighting a boxer in an MMA fight gives the MMA fighter a huge advantage, and the same goes true for MMA fighters engaging in a boxing match with a boxer. It’s really not a fair fight,” said Hall of Fame promoter Roy Englebrecht. “On October 26, Lisa Mauldin and Angel Blackwell will get their chance to test the waters in boxing without having to do so against someone with a huge stylistic advantage. These two ladies know how to fight. Now they want to box, and I’m expecting a barnburner.”

Currently 6-3 as an MMA pro with three finishes, Irvine’s Lisa Mauldin has been on a tear in the PFL promotion, where she’s won two straight, including a third-round stoppage of highly regarded Helen Peralta in February and a first round submission of Desiree Yanez in August. Now she’ll look to close out 2023 in the boxing ring with a win over Blackwell.

Fighting out of San Diego, Angel Blackwell not only has a long amateur background in MMA, but she turned pro last year on a Combate Global Exclusivo card and even has experience as a professional wrestler. But now it’s time to step between the ropes for what she expects to be the biggest fight of her career thus far.

Also on October 26th will be 10x National Champion Pan American Games Gold Medalist Jesikah Guerra currently at 2-0 as she takes on amateur MMA fighter turning Pro Boxer in Brianna Jimenez. The fans have been asking for a female bout all year long, so to have two female bouts on our October 26th show is going to be something special.

Fighting for the Tequila Mandala Young Champions Belt on our October 26th show will be Jesse “Lobito” Gonzalez out of Santa Ana vs Whittier’s Josias Gonzalez. This fight has #FightsGuaranteed all over it, so make sure to keep some of that cash to wad up for this bout!

Sonny Robledo now at 8-0 (3KO’s) is back to continue his climb in boxing this time against seasoned veteran fighter in Jose Angulo with a solid 15-6 (8KO’s) record. This fight is set at 8 rounds in the super lightweight division and is sure to be a barnburner.

Knockout artist 5-0 (5KO’s) Jordan Panthen will return on the October show this time in a 8 rounder against Cameron Krael from Las Vegas, NV with a solid record of 20-29-3 (7KO’s).

Plus on the MMA side of things Huntington Beach’s Nick Olson is back against Caleb Tenpas making his Pro Debut out of Santa Clarita, CA.

Our second MMA bout will see Troy Guerrero as he is set to take on Mauricio Magdaleno.

Fight Club OC is the place to be on Thursday nights in the OC. With less than 100 tickets left online priced at $65 and $55 for October 26th make sure to grab your tickets today at www.socafights.com.
