January 2, 2024

Orange County, CA: SOCA Fights and promoter Roy Englebrecht announced today the signing of undefeated Southern California boxer, 19 year old Dorian Mendez.

Born in Boyle Heights and fighting out of East LA and the Capetillo Boxing Academy the right handed junior welterweight Mendez is perfect in his short boxing career, going 4-0 as an amateur and 2-0 as a professional. His last win was on the December 14th Fight Club OC show where he won the Tequila Mandala Young Champions belt with a UD win over Samuel Palencia.

“We think Dorian is a perfect fighter for us to sign and showcase him at our Fight Club OC shows as I know our fans will love his all action style,” said SOCA Fights president Drew Englebrecht. “He’s in great hands with trainer Javier Capetillo and we look forward to helping to build his pro career towards some big time fights.”

SOCA Fights VP of Fighter Relations & Matchmaker Erin Toughill also had high praise for the signing of Mendez. “This young man has dedicated himself to the sport of boxing with the intention of showing the world what he is capable of. Dorian has a bright future and the sky’s the limit for him. I am proud to help him in building his career and also proud that he has decided to call Fight Club OC his home.”

Trained and managed by Javier Capetillo, Mendez will return to action on the April 4th Fight Club OC show in The Hangar at the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, CA. All Fight Club OC 2024 dates and ticket information is at www.socafights.com.
