COSTA MESA, Calif. – Boxing legend Muhammad Ali was laid to rest on Friday in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky.
Ali, often referred to as “The Greatest,” was known for his influence in and outside the ring.
The OC Fair & Event Center hosted Fight Club OC this last week, which featured an impressive fight card showcasing young and hungry professional contenders.
The sold-out event hit record attendance, proving that boxing remains relevant, despite doubts by some sports fans.
After the first few bouts, the night took a turn. In a moment of silence paired with the traditional boxing ten count, honoring Ali, along with “Grampa” Rene Rangel, one of OC’s own.
Several contenders stated Ali was their biggest influence growing up. Ali’s influence and legacy will continue to live on and will continue to inspire many generations to come.
