A big crowd of 1,382 fight fans were treated to a rare occurrence on a fight show, as two bouts ended in draws, two were split decisions and a big TKO win! This just confirms why the fights at all Fight Club OC shows are evenly matched, and a big shout out to Roy Englebrecht Promotions matchmakers Whit Hayden and Mel Valenzuela for another outstanding job.
The two draws were all over the show. Heavyweights Justin Davenport and Matt McKinney, both in their pro debuts, stood toe to toe for four rounds in a fight that saw nearly $150 of cash thrown into the ring by appreciated fans. Not to be outdone, the main event saw 4-0 John Hays and 3-5 Moises Alvizo battle to a six round draw, with Fight Club OC fans again emptying their wallets this time to a tune of nearly $200!
The split decisions and TKO win saw fighters cut, staggered, and fans cheering all night, had Roy Englebrecht Promotions promoted boxer Dwain Victorian go to 3-0 with a third round TKO win over Juan Zuniga in Victorian’s best performance of his young career. Steven Stryker of Irvine ups his record to 3-1 with a hard fought win over Kory Kelly, and Anaheim’s Andre Walker stays undefeated and moves to 2-0 with an all action war against Paul Gemmati.
Fight Club OC closes out their 2013 season on December 5th and the finale is shaping up to be the best show of the year with 13-0 Alexander “The Great” Flores taking on his toughest opponent yet in 12-12 Arron Lyons out of Houston, and in a big IFBA Jr Lightweight Female World Championship bout, it will be Maywood’s Lissette Medel vs Melisenda Perez out of Long Beach. Plus Curtis Millender will be looking to move his record to 4-0 meeting a very tough 4-4 Thor Shanke.
