Before a huge sold out crowd of 1,451 in the Skookum Event Center at Little-Creek Casino Resort in Shelton, Washington, local favorite Mike Gavronski ran his record to a perfect 13-0 with a spectacular last round knockout of Tristan Todd, to capture the Global Boxing Organization Super Middleweight Belt on Saturday night. Fighting with a broken jaw since the second round, Gavronski keep the pressure on a very game Todd out of Memphis, but a big right hand dropped Todd two minutes into the eight and final round, but he beat the count only to take five unanswered blows before it was stopped at 2:26. Gavonski goes to 13-0 with 9KOs and Todd drops to 8-4.
In a great heavyweight battle between two undefeated boxers, it was LA’s Charles Martin coming out on top of a UD over previously undefeated Vince Thompson out of Federal Way, WA. Martin was just too big for Thompson, and won almost every round. With the win Martin improves to 10-0 with Thompson dropping his first as a pro and goes to 13-1.
Tacoma’s rising cruiserweight Marquise Weston goes to 2-0 with a 1st round KO of LA/s Richard Ballard. It was a very entertaining first two minutes with each fighter showing cat quickness, but Ballard was caught against the ropes by a big right hand and was out cold before he hit the canvas.
The show was promoted by Roy Englebrecht Promotions.
