Fight Club OC Winds Down Summer With a Stacked Card Filled With Combat Sports Mastery!

August 29, 2025

As Fight Club OC slowly bid adieu to summer from the Hangar at the OC Fair & Events Center in beautiful Costa Mesa, CA on August 28th, the crowd was in the mood for excitement and the fighters more than delivered.

Opening the show was a 4 round, welterweight boxing match between Riverside’s Oscar Trujillo (3-0-2) and Noah Davis (0-1) in his pro debut from Hollywood. These two welterweights understood that opening the show with a bang was the way to go. From the start Trujillo had Davis’s number. It took a round for Trujillo to place his punches, but once he did he couldn’t stop landing his left hand. In the second round, it became apparent that Davis was in over his head, and Trujillo leveled him with a succession of punches and the referee waved it off after finishing only half his count.

From there we switched over to a 3 round MMA bout in the featherweight class that saw JeongJoo Choi (2-1-0) from Fullerton take on Adryen Spinks (1-1) from Fontana. These two combatants made this a stand-up affair. It was filled with a lot of striking, Superman punches, kicks to the head, and just about everything you expect from MMA at Fight Club OC. The bout went the route and from the first to the third, Choi did just enough to edge the game Spinks. In the end, Choi was rewarded for his effort with a decision over Spinks. However, both fighters acquitted themselves well.

Moving back into boxing, fans were given a 4 round welterweight bout with San Diego’s Alfredo Quinones (4-0-1) battling Honolulu’s Jovan Alayon (2-1-1). Quinones and Alayon put on a mini Hagler-Hearns. From the moment the bout started, these guys were throwing bombs at one another. Then Quinones dropped Alayon and from there the fight was basically over. Quinones stalked Alayon landing punches to the body and head. Then after absorbing a lot of punishment along the ropes, the referee stopped the bout and Quinones got the first round victory.

Sticking with boxing, light heavyweights Patrick Ogbebor (1-0 1KO) (from Los Angeles) took on Devon Cooley (0-1) (from Long Beach) in a 4 round contest. Both combatants were making their pro debuts in a contest where someone’s 0 had to go! Clubbing shots were the order of the day, and Ogbebor landed plenty as he battered Cooley to the canvas about halfway through the first round. After that, Ogbebor kept his composure and continued to land more and more throttling blows on Cooley until the ref waived it off.

Returning to MMA in the co-headliner, LA’s Christopher Cruz (3-1-1) went head to head with Robert Duran (0-2) of Redlands. This was a 1 round bantamweight war, in which the combatants went to the ground and stayed there. They both took turns having the advantage, but Cruz started doing his ground and pound thing and the bout was eventually halted in his favor on strikes.

Ending the night was a 6 round, Tequila Mandala Young Champions bout in the super welterweight division! Fight Club OC favorite Jesse “Lobito” Gonzalez (8-4-1 2KOs) of Santa Ana, returned to fight Christian Seals (4-3-2 2KOs) of Carson. Fighting like the veteran he’s become, Lobito held his ground against the tough and game seals. In the first few rounds, Lobito loaded up on his punches and seemed to be looking to get a one punch KO. He eventually settled down, however, by that time Seals was locked into the fight. Both fighters had their moments but it was Gonzalez who took home the W.
