Mavidis Takes UD Over Findley In Epic Battle

June 14, 2019

Costa Mesa, CA. When fans shower the ring with nearly $250 you know they appreciate a great effort by two warriors. And that’s what happened Thursday night at Roy Englebrecht Promotions’ Fight Club OC show, as undefeated Greek star Triantaafyllos Mavidis won a UD over tough veteran Derrick Findley in a fight that was a war for eight rounds.

Mavidis stays undefeated at 6-0 but his knockout streak of five in a row came to an end against Findley who has fought the likes of Andre Ward, Antwun Echols, Curtis Stevens, Andre Dirrell, and Edwin Rodriguez in a stellar career. Certainly, the win elevates Mavidis in the super middleweight picture as a force to be reckoned with in the next year or two.

Other results from the 50th Anniversary Fight Club OC show before another sellout crowd at The Hangar at the OC Fair & Event Center saw Huntington Beach’s Kenny Quach win his first pro bout and move to 1-1-1 with a UD over Francisco Alfaro 1-1. Aaron McKenna’s younger brother Stephen moved to 2-0 with a 1stround KO of South Carolina’s Keasen Freeman 4-7; and in another great action fight Laguna Beach’s Chelsey Anderson made her pro debut a memorable one before 145 of her fans, scoring a split decision win over Carlsbad’s Paola Ramirez who also was in her pro debut.

Fight Club OC 51st show is set for Thursday, August 22nd.
