Explosive Night Set For Aug 16th, Including Pre-Party & After-Party!

July 19, 2012

Fast-rising heavyweight Alexander “The Great” Flores (9-0, 7 KO’s) faces his toughest test to date as he returns to the OC Fair and Events Center August 16 when he faces Henry Namauu (10-4, 5 KO’s) of Las Vegas in an 8 round heavyweight clash.

Flores, ranked #39 by the WBC and coming off of a 5th round stoppage of Joey Montoya in May for the WBC Youth Heavyweight Title, is on a roll since signing with Roy Englebrecht Promotions in the summer of 2011, having won five consecutive by knockout.  Namauu is on fire of late as well, as he has turned the corner in his career by winning 7 of his last 8 scraps, including a 10 round unanimous decision in April over Joell Godfrey. Namauu has also found regular work as a sparring partner for the Klitschko’s in preparation for their title defenses.

In other action, barely eighteen year-old fireball Byron Gonzalez (3-0-3, 3 KO’s) will take to the ring for the first time in two years versus an opponent to be named shortly.  If you do the math here, you will see that this super lightweight fought his pro bouts in Mexico at the tender ages of 15 and 16.

Uber-popular Isaac Tadeo (2-0, 2 KO’s) of nearby La Habra will battle Silvanio Reyes (0-1) in a jr. middlewight fight of four rounds.

Tough Brady Rein (1-0, 1 KO) will make his Fight Club OC debut versus equally rugged Eric Prado (1-2) of Santa Maria in a middleweight bout, while San Diego brawler Lawrence Letuli will also see action on the card in a four rounder as well.  Letuli was showered with dollar bills after a solid performance in defeat at the Irvine Marriott in December of 2010.

After having battled the likes of Nate Diaz, Rafael dos Anjos and Gray Maynard in the UFC, Irvine native Rob “The Saint” Emerson makes his Fight Club OC debut against the very tough and rugged Jason Williams out of Buena Park and Eddie Cha’s All in MMA.  Williams is on a three fight win streak which includes a big victory against veteran Albert Rios. This promises to be an epic scrap as Rob makes his way back to the UFC and Jason is aiming to get the biggest win of his career.
